Feeling like a failure because you had a drink after two weeks of sobriety? That’s not failure. In fact, you’ve already triumphed in ways most people cannot fathom.

You’ve spent two weeks without a single drop of liquor, showing the true potential within you. Here at Beyond Sober, we believe the real failure lies in not trying at all.

Resilience and the Test of Sobriety

Remember, sobriety is resilience, and you’ve shown it in abundance. The trauma that pushed you to pick up the bottle again is not your downfall, it’s your test. It’s a test of strength, resilience and willpower. You’ve shown all these traits by abstaining for two weeks.

You were winning, and now you’re learning. Triggers, tests, and trauma are inevitable, but it’s how you respond to them that matters. Your resilience has been tested and now you know what it feels like to want that liquor again.

The Spiral of Thoughts and Actions

This test has brought a realization. If you continue to feel the same way about your trauma, the same thoughts will keep surfacing. These thoughts will inevitably lead you to the same actions — reaching for that bottle. This is not where you want to be. You don’t want to be dependent on alcohol or resort to drinking whenever you’re uncomfortable. This realization is the first step towards long-term sobriety.

The Road to 100% Sobriety

Here’s the reassuring part. In just four days from your last drink, you’ll return to a state of 100% sobriety. It only takes four days for alcohol to process out of your body. At that point, you’re as sober as any person who has been abstinent for 40 years. The key lies in staying sober, and this is where Sober Not Sober comes in.

Building a Support System

If you’re struggling or need support, remember you’re not alone. I’ve helped thousands of people stay sober by providing them with the tools and resources necessary to resist the call of liquor when faced with trauma or uncomfortable emotions.

All these resources are available to you, if you want access to me, my programs, or my calendar, visit my page for more details.
